Mental Health Educator- POSITION AVAILABLE

Congratulations to the June CIT/MHRT Class of 2009 Graduates!

On Friday, June 19th, nineteen law enforcement officers from local college campuses and surrounding areas in Hamilton County, Ohio, graduated from a forty hour law enforcement training.  The Mental Health Response training is based on the CIT (Memphis Model- Crisis Intervention Training) and provides officers with specific skills to utilize when working with individuals who have a mental illness crisis.  The training was facilitated by the Mental Health Association with support from the Hamilton County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board.  

 

 

Check Out Future MHA Mental Health Roundtable and Training Schedule

The next Mental Health Roundtable will be held on Tuesday, July 7th from noon to 1 p.m.  Jeremiah Schumm, Ph.D., staff psychologist at the Cincinnati Veterans Affairs, PTSD Division, will present on its' national model for battling anxiety disorders and PTSD.  The VA efforts were featured in the Cincinnati Enquirer article "VA Center program helps with stress disorders" earlier in the month.  Program is applicable to all helping professionals- not just those helping returning vets.  CEU's will be awarded (counseling, nursing, social work - $10.00 per clock hour).  Program is free to attend.  Call 513-721-2910 with questions.
